Start

I started my career at a former state owned company with about 200,000 employees and about 3,000 colleagues.
After that, I transferred to a group company and worked on technology and management while always searching for the path I should take.
At the same time, I had the opportunity to learn about risk management by utilizing the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s education and training benefit system.
In the process, I connected with many managers and executives, and managed study sessions and mailing lists with the purpose of building a community.

Global

On the other hand, influenced by the Western music I had been familiar with since childhood, I began to aspire to a path that would work globally, and decided to change careers to work at the Japanese subsidiary of a US company.
At the time, I had a baby and it was a decision that came with a determination that I could not turn back from.
At the US company, I regularly held conference calls and meetings between Japan and the US, and was later selected as a PM/PMO for a project to launch an e-commerce website.
My experience of completing projects was recognized, and I expanded my field of activities overseas.
Moreover, I focused on recruiting overseas members, building organizations, and nurturing leaders, and managed stakeholders while leading members from APAC and EU countries.
I also experienced in-house production of businesses that had been outsourced, and integrating organizations and systems through M&A.

Change

Through these experiences, I felt a desire to share my knowledge and experience beyond the boundaries of industries and business types, rather than keeping it within one company, and to give back to society.
The fact that I turned 50 in 2024 and my two daughters found jobs and became independent was also a major factor in my decision to start a company.

Found

The name Nextramiles Inc. contains the meanings of two words “Next Mile” and “Extra Miles”.
We were established with the desire to support and walk alongside business executives and young managers of venture companies as they break through the status quo and move on to the next stage, “Beyond Limits, and Further Beyond”.
We utilize the extensive knowledge, experience, and network we have cultivated in the IT industry and global companies to propose and implement the optimal approach to help our clients achieve their goals.

Social

Although the number of entrepreneurs in Japan is on the rise, compared to other countries, the number is still low, and entrepreneurship has not yet reached the point where it is considered an option on the same level as employment.
The main reasons for this include a desire for stability based on the lifetime employment system, hesitate to risk, social views on failure, a lack of knowledge and education about entrepreneurship, the difficulty of raising funds, and the complicated procedures for establishing a company.
In order to promote entrepreneurship, it is necessary for the government, companies, and educational institutions to work together to improve the environment from a multifaceted perspective.

Challenge

First of all, I would be happy if I could be someone who gives courage and inspiration to others by taking the action of starting a business myself.
In my private life, I have completed Ultra Marathon eight times so far.
Three of these were accomplished in 2024, and two times of them were personal bests, as I continue to pursue even greater heights.
I am convinced that our very existence embodies our commitment to continue challenging new possibilities.
