President Message
Start
My career began at a former state-owned enterprise with over 200,000 employees and approximately 3,000 peers who joined in the same year.
Later, I experienced a transfer to one of its group companies, where I continued to explore my own path while engaging in various roles that connected technology and management.
In parallel, I took advantage of Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s Education and Training Benefit Program to study risk management, gaining a broader perspective beyond my daily work.
Throughout this journey, I built connections with numerous executives and business leaders. I also organized study groups and mailing communities aimed at fostering learning and creating meaningful professional networks.

Global
On the other hand, influenced by Western music I had loved since childhood, I began to aspire to build a global career. This motivation led me to make a bold decision to transition from a domestic company to the Japanese subsidiary of a U.S.-based corporation.
At that time, I had an infant and toddler at home — making this career change a life-defining decision that required a deep sense of commitment and determination.
In the American company, I was responsible for daily cross-border communications through conference calls and meetings between Japan and the U.S., and was later appointed as Project Manager / PMO for an e-commerce site launch project.
The successful completion of this project earned recognition and opened doors to expand my role internationally.
I then focused on hiring, organization building, and leadership development for overseas teams, managing stakeholders while leading members across APAC and European countries.
In addition, I gained hands-on experience in insourcing previously outsourced business operations, as well as organizational and systems integration through M&A initiatives.
Change
Through these experiences, I developed a strong desire to share my knowledge and insights beyond a single organization—across industries and sectors—and to give back to society in a meaningful way.
Turning 50 in 2024, along with the milestone of seeing my two daughters start their own independent careers, became a significant catalyst that inspired me to found Nextramiles Inc.

Found
The name “Nextramiles” carries two ideas within it — “Next Mile” and “Extra Miles.”
It embodies our mission to support business executives and emerging entrepreneurs who seek to break through their current boundaries and move “Beyond Limits, and Further Beyond.”
Nextramiles Inc. was founded with the vision of walking alongside leaders as they take their next steps toward growth, transformation, and impact.
Drawing on decades of experience in the IT industry and global organizations, we leverage our deep knowledge, strategic insight, and worldwide network to deliver tailored approaches that help clients achieve their goals and realize their potential.
Social
While the number of startups in Japan has been gradually increasing, it still remains relatively small compared to other countries. Entrepreneurship has yet to be widely recognized as a career path equal to traditional employment.
Several factors contribute to this situation — a cultural preference for stability rooted in the lifetime employment system, a general aversion to risk, and a social stigma toward failure. In addition, challenges such as limited access to entrepreneurial education, complex administrative procedures, and difficulties in fundraising further hinder the growth of new ventures.
To truly foster entrepreneurship, collaboration among government, corporations, and educational institutions is essential — creating an ecosystem that nurtures innovation, supports bold ideas, and empowers individuals to take their next step forward.

Challenge
By taking the step to start my own company, I hope to serve as a source of inspiration and courage for others who are considering their own challenges and transformations.
In my personal life, I have completed nine ultramarathons so far — including three in 2024 alone, two of which marked new personal bests. These experiences remind me that every challenge, no matter how demanding, is an opportunity to push beyond limits and discover new potential.
I believe that the very existence of Nextramiles Inc. embodies this same spirit — a continual pursuit of new possibilities and a commitment to moving “beyond limits, and further beyond.”
